GITEX Europe 2025: innovation, inspiration, and Ulla in the spotlight
Last week, Berlin transformed into the epicentre of global tech innovation as GITEX Europe 2025 opened its doors to more than 1,200 startups, 150+ exhibiting countries, and the brightest minds across AI, cybersecurity, digital health, energy, and future mobility.
The exhibition spanned multiple dedicated zones - from the AI & Robotics, Cloud Computing, Data & IoT, Cybersecurity, Digital Cities, Finance & Digital Assets, Industry 4.0 & Autotech, Intelligent Connectivity & Telecom, Green Tech, and the buzzing North Star Startup Zone, where next-generation startups like Ulla took centre stage. The event’s agenda was packed with groundbreaking panels, product demos, and insight-driven talks from global leaders.
We made the most of it.
Ulla at the heart of the action
Ulla Technology joined the exhibition with a booth in the Startup Zone (Hall 4.2, Stand C27 & C28) - where we met hundreds of founders, partners, and forward-thinking teams looking for practical, secure AI. Our stand became a buzzing hub for conversations about data control, privacy-first AI, and real-world collaboration.
From private sector innovators to public servants, everyone had one thing in common: they're searching for AI that works without putting data at risk.
Speaking on the Tech Talks Stage
We also took the stage. Our Senior Business Developer, Dmytro Chupryna, spoke at Tech Talks 3.2 | Hall 3.2 on May 23, 14:40–15:00. The topic: No, AI – you’re not invited. Why secure AI matters more than ever. Dmytro’s talk addressed rising risks in data misuse, the limits of current enterprise AI solutions, and what a truly secure AI architecture should look like. With cyberattacks and compliance risks growing fast, Ulla’s approach resonated - especially with organisations tired of generic, cloud-based tools.
Supernova Challenge Semi-Finalists
Another highlight for our team was taking part in the Supernova Challenge - a leading pitch competition spotlighting breakthrough startups across Europe. Ulla was selected as one of the semi-finalists, representing the UK in a field of ambitious startups from Germany, the UAE, the Netherlands, Denmark, and beyond. Competing under the theme of AI for good, our 2-minute pitch focused on how Ulla empowers professionals in regulated industries to adopt AI safely - with on-premises deployment and no third-party APIs.
The jury included leaders from international VC firms, tech giants, and innovation hubs.
What we saw, heard, and loved
Beyond our own activities, we had the chance to attend standout sessions from some of the top thinkers in tech. These included:
- The Great EU AI Debate & How It Impacts Cybersecurity
With representatives from the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre, Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium, UK Government, and others, this session explored how AI is transforming critical infrastructure policy across the EU.
- AI-Driven OT & IT Security – Solidifying the Grid
Experts from SHV Energy, Uniper, Motor Oil, Italgas, and more discussed cybersecurity resilience in the energy sector, amid a 70% rise in infrastructure attacks in 2024.
-
Building AI-First Nations This panel gathered AI policy leaders from Digital Dubai, Hungarian Innovation Agency, and Government of Serbia to debate how countries can foster AI ecosystems while retaining sovereignty and innovation capacity.
-
AI & ML: Revolutionising Cyber Defense
CISOs and cyber strategists from Ferrero, Haniel, CrowdStrike, and Lindal Group shared real-world cases of AI-enabled defence and detection.
…and many other engaging talks from global innovators shaping the AI-powered future.
These sessions fuelled our own thinking about the future of AI adoption - especially in public-facing services, where security, transparency, and usability all matter equally.
See you again soon
GITEX Europe was an energising and valuable opportunity to connect, share ideas, and showcase our work on a truly global stage. From Berlin’s conference halls to global boardrooms, the message is clear: secure, local, and human-centred AI is no longer a niche - it’s a necessity. And we’re proud that Ulla stood at the centre of that conversation.
