Speaker names: how to assign and edit
How to assign speakers in Ulla for accurate transcriptions
You’ve just held your first meeting with Ulla. The transcript is ready, but there’s one thing missing - speaker names. Since Ulla doesn’t know your voice yet, the transcript shows generic labels like "Speaker 1" and "Speaker 2."
No worries! Once you update speaker names, Ulla will remember them and automatically recognise voices in future meetings.
Here’s how to do it:

⭕️Update speakers from the speaker panel
- Open Ulla Dashboard and go to Scripts
- Select the meeting where you want to update speakers.
- On the right panel, you’ll see a list of detected speakers.
- Click Edit next to a speaker and enter their name.
⭕️ Edit speakers directly in the Transcript tab
- Go to the Transcript tab of your meeting.
- The full transcript will display each speaker's dialogue.
- Click on any speaker label (e.g., “Speaker 1”) and select Edit.
- Enter the correct name, and Ulla will update it.

Ulla learns as You Go
Once you assign a name, Ulla saves a sample of the speaker’s voice. Next time they speak in a meeting, Ulla will automatically recognise them. If a speaker is already in the system, Ulla will even suggest their name when you start typing.
That’s it! With just a few clicks, your transcripts will be clearer, better organised, and tailored to your team. 🎙
